Fylde Coast Women’s Aid Coronavirus Statement
In response to the current pandemic COVID-19, FCWA has introduced a number of measures to safeguard both its service users and its staff whilst continuing to provide high-quality support for victims of domestic abuse.
Please note that FCWA refuges are still open and accepting women and children. FCWA is still open to new referrals for all services.
Specific measures have been implemented across all FCWA services to minimise risk and allow services to continue with minimal disruption. These measures will remain in place until further notice.
In line with the most recent guidance from Public Health, all peer support groups are temporarily suspended, with telephone support in place.
FCWA children and young people’s workers, Safe Haven, are no longer delivering any group or one-to-one sessions in schools. Where possible, telephone and/or Skype support is being put in place.
All current clients and new referrals are being supported by telephone only.
To ensure FCWA offices can remain open, FCWA staff have been instructed to follow government guidance and self-isolate for 14 days if they or any household members experience any coronavirus symptoms.
FCWA will continue to adapt to the changing situation to ensure that victims of domestic abuse across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre are able to access the support that they need.
