MASH Children’s Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (CIDVA)

In partnership with Blackpool Unitary Authority, Fylde Coast Women’s Aid are pleased to advertise this exciting new post.
The post will be co-located within the Blackpool Safeguarding Hub, and part of the successful candidates’ role will be to help raise the wider teams awareness, identification and response to those experiencing domestic violence/abuse and to work within a multi-agency arena to improve partnership responses to domestic violence/abuse.
The successful candidate will provide a high-quality service to children and young people either of victims of domestic abuse or in their own right, whilst working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse. The successful candidate will contact those experiencing/living with domestic violence/abuse by telephone to ascertain the risk and needs of the family/young person and to then work within a multi-agency setting to navigate services so that the families being referred are accessing the right services at the right time with regards to domestic violence and abuse.
Previous experience of directly supporting vulnerable adults and/or children and an understanding of the dynamics of domestic and sexual abuse is essential.
